June's Television Nemesis: Martha StewartWhat is it with this woman? I mean, where does she find the TIME! This woman not only personally designs the landscaping around her home to provide year round fresh flower bouquets, she also cultivates her own Christmas trees and greenery for Christmas. Need more proof of the extra time this woman has on her hands? She hand weaves children's Easter baskets and hand makes the candy that goes in each one! This is a woman who needs serious spiritual help. If it's not bad enough that she feels compelled to focus all her attention on how to properly make a bed, she's on TV trying to get the rest of us to care! One Sunday morning, ol' Martha was preparing a cake in the shape of a lamb for Easter celebrations at her home. She went to elaborate lengths to bake the cake in a lamb mold and then preparing frosting that would resemble lamb's wool once the cake was decorated. At my house, not only would the kids be swiping heaping finger loads of icing straight from the bowl, they'd also throw a fit if I tried to stick a knife in the cute little lamb, assuming I had enough icing left over after I chased the children from the kitchen. Screams of "Murder" would rise up and tears would flow at the thought of killing the baby lamb. (Again, this is assuming the cake even resembled a lamb as hers did.) More than likely, my attempt at such a cake would yield a mangy white and tan dog-like creature which my children would still not want to sacrifice. But they would have no reservations at licking all the frosting off the poor beast and once finished with the frosting, feed the remains to the family dog. I am very suspicious of any woman who chooses to leave her career after her children are past the "finger-painting on the walls with the contents of their diaper" stage. Sure, stay home with them once they're off at boarding school for months at a time!
