The Top Ten

This list is taken from A & E's Top Ten List "Top Ten Dogs For the Family".  They are listed in alphabetical order.

The A & E list is the impetus for the creation of this site.  While these are each great breeds, families must exercise EXTREME caution when choosing any of these popular breeds.

  • Carefully research each breed before making a decision for your family.

  • Interview as many breeders of the breed that you can find.

  • See the dogs up close and personal, at dog shows and by visiting breeders.

  • Look at the adult your puppy will grow into, not just the cute and cuddly puppy.

This site was created because there are actually specimens of breeds on this list that can pose a physical danger to you or your children if purchased from the "wrong" breeder.  Read more about purchasing your dog from the "right" breeder here.
