Patrick - your father-in-law sounds like my kind of guy!

Julius - yes, I wrote a book because I was tired of repeating myself to clients. Know what - I still repeat myself but at least now I can "abbreviate" my speeches! ;)

Tom - I know - I know! The death of the landline has GOT to have those ad reps quaking in their boots!

This is a great wake-up call to local for local businesses. Now how do you get them to read it? I'm often amazed at the number who don't yet have a website when so many households don't even have a land line. I'll bet that you won't find many phone books in those homes.

I've never looked at it that way. I guess it is true people use the Internet to make decisions and if they can't find anything suitable they use the yellow pages. But these days there are so many online stores that most people directly purchase products over the Internet.

By the way Kathy I didn't know that you wrote a book ;)

I'm reminded of a simple yet effective old media/new media combo my father-in-law employed. He built garages for a living and would take out a simple short ad in the classified ads pointing people to a good many color photos of his most recent projects. Color photos in print would be very cost prohibitive but directing potential clients to his work in a good many color photos online helped generate a lot of business.

If one is investing a little of their budget in print how creative can they be with a very small investment?
